Our Okapi bracelet was inspired by the distinguishing color patterns found on every okapi. Capturing the beauty of the okapi's velvety hair was key in the design phase. This bracelet is made from black onyx, red tiger eye and white howlite.
Profits from this bracelet will benefit the Okapi Conservation Project and okapi conservation around the world.
The okapi is known as "the forest giraffe" and is found only in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Standing 6 feet tall at the head with a tongue measuring 14-18 inches long, the okapi is the closest living relative of the giraffe. Okapi are completely dependent on the forest sanctuary for survival - human conflict from mining, poaching and habitat loss are the main causes of the steep decline in okapi. Listed as endangered by the IUCN, we hope to do our part and bring awareness to this very unique animal.
