Our Give Gorillas Hope bracelet was inspired by the tight family units found in every gorilla troop. The black beads represent the individual gorillas, with the silver bead representing the wisdom of the silverback. The green stones represent the jungle habitat where gorillas live. This bracelet is made from black jasper and green jasper.
Profits from these bracelets will benefit The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
Gorillas share over 98% of their DNA with humans, making them one of our closest relatives. They have tight family bonds and are gentle animals unless provoked or threatened. There are currently two species of gorillas, the Eastern gorillas and the Western gorillas, each with two subspecies. The Mountain gorilla and the Western Lowland gorilla are the most well-known, both of which are listed as critically endangered. Gorillas are facing extinction with the ongoing threats of habitat destruction, poaching, and disease. As the largest living primate in the world, gorillas have no natural enemies or predators. Sadly, humans are their only threat.
